¿Cómo afrontar la cuesta de enero? - BeZen Mattress & Health

How to face the January slope?

With the holidays, the New Year, family and friends constantly hanging around the house and proposing empty-pocket plans, it is normal that there is no time to save or organize your finances.

This phenomenon that occurs at the end of December and throughout January, which suffocates the domestic economy, is known as the January slope.

Luckily, we offer you a few tips to make this slope less steep.

Make a budget

The first tip whenever you are looking to save is to make a budget. By being aware of what your essential expenses are and making a list of what you want to save for, it will be much easier to control both necessary and unnecessary expenses.

Once you have identified what you can cut back on or what you can even do without, readjust your expenses. Also, if Christmas gifts have plunged you into debt, prioritize paying them to avoid interest later.

Another way to focus on savings is to automate them through your bank's mobile application: at the beginning of each month (or whenever you decide) the amount you want to allocate to each savings plan will be extracted and it will be automatically entered into these “piggy banks”. This way, it will be much easier to save and avoid spending money that you need.

Within your budget you can also include an emergency fund to which you add money little by little and some other small long-term investments that can help you financially (stocks, cryptocurrencies...)

Take advantage of the sales and save

With the sales period that begins on January 3, it is very easy to fall into the temptation of spending and consuming inappropriately. Avoid whims, make a list of the things you really need and if after a while the idea has matured you still need that product, buy it.

At BeZen, we make it easier for you to invest in quality and sustainable mattresses with our sales throughout the website.

Reviewing your energy plan is another very good way to know how much you spend and better yet, how you can save. The increase in electricity and the need to turn on the heating due to the cold are very harmful to the pocket.

What can I do from home?

Don't worry, we also bring you some everyday solutions for this problem. Considering the rise in energy prices, you can start by turning off the devices you are not usingor and activating appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers at the cheapest hours. Ventilate the house room by room and for no more than 10 minutes to avoid generating drafts that cool your home. It is always necessary to ventilate, and even more so in these times, but it must be done carefully so as not to have to turn on the heating immediately afterwards.

Textile thermal insulators are also very good in these cases: quality curtains, rugs to prevent cold feet, and fabric door stops, preventing cold air from seeping through the gaps.

Say no (or at least reconsider) to plans outside the home. Between the happy pandemic, how cold it is outside and how expensive some plans are, it is often better to stay with family and friends at home, relaxed. It is not only the most prudent thing to do right now, but also the most economical.

Are you ready to beat the January slope?
